Santa Cruz Community Church

Santa Cruz Community Church considers the study of God’s Word to be of highest importance.  Regularly scheduled Bible Studies are held on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings in the church’s Fireside Room.  Other Bible studies are held from time to time.

Sunday mornings, from 9:30 to 10:30 - - This group discusses a variety of texts and topics covering the entire Old and New Testaments, moving from one area of Scripture to another each three-month period.
The leader for these studies is Pastor John Heberling.

Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm we come together to pray for God's direction for the church and our people. 

Wednesday evenings at 7:00 - - We hold a “good old-fashioned Bible study and prayer meeting”.
The study is a verse-by-verse look at books of the Bible, moving between Old Testament and New Testament books as chosen by the class.  An hour in the Word is followed by a time of prayer, including intercession for needs brought by the group.

We are fortunate to have these classes taught by Pastor John Heberling, who is not only a well-qualified and experienced Bible teacher, but also one with a passion for sharing God’s Word.

Men's Ensemble is a group of men desiring to share their love of God through music.  Sundays we meet at 12:45pm for rehearsal and sing several times a year.

The men of the church meet on the first Saturday of the month to have breakfast and pray for each other and the needs of the church.  Some meetings include a Bible study and others may include a discussion of something God has done in the life of one of the men.  All men of the church and their visitors are invited, and on special occasions we invite the ladies to join us.

Each month the Seniors (actually anyone available for an adventure on a weekday) meet for fun, food and fellowship.  Many different activities take place throughout the year; from trips to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, to informative gatherings at church, to visits to local attractions and museums.  Highlights include a Valentine’s Day lunch at a special restaurant, a corned beef and cabbage celebration of St Paddy’s Day, a summer picnic at the charming home of one of our members, and a Christmas potluck lunch and Carol Sing.  Whether at the church or away, good company and good food are always on the agenda.  These events are scheduled for the third Tuesday of the month, gathering at the church parking lot at 11:30 am.  Please contact John or Liz Heberling, through the church office, for further information or to make reservations.
